Simple Woman's Daybook

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY... Friday February 12th 2010

Outside my window... It's dull and grey and oh so very cold (32f) but it's not snowing so that's good.

I am thinking... About friends

I am thankful for... the peace the gospel brings

I am wearing... tech wicking socks, pair of khaki trousers, brown top that I love cos it makes me look uber skinny. =)

I am remembering...friends

I am going...finish up preparing my lesson

I am currently reading...The old Testament and my lesson book.

I am hoping... I can just get over myself and get on with life.

On my mind... friends

Noticing that...I spend WAY too much time on the computer.

Pondering these words... “When we conclude to make a Zion we will make it, and this work commences in the heart of each person. When the father of a family wishes to make a Zion in his own house, he must take the lead in this good work, which it is impossible for him to do unless he himself possesses the spirit of Zion. Before he can produce the work of sanctification in his family, he must sanctify himself, and by this means God can help him to sanctify his family. . . ."
Brigham Young

From the kitchen...Pizza for the children tonight - Date night for Bert and I. WHOOT!

Around the house...This morning I did a boatload of dishes and two loads of laundry before getting ready for work. Yes, I am amazing. =)

One of my favorite things...my family

From my picture journal...

Do you think Ben is happy is Mother is hugging him? =)

There's inspiration everywhere you look

This post may be TMI for some who aren't parents - or maybe those whose children are all grown. Sorry about that - but one takes one's inspiration where one can.

So Andrew has been learning to wipe his bottom after he poops. He doesn't like doing it because it's WORK. =D He wants me to do it all. I think not. So I bought some special wet wipes and the deal is that he wipes, then comes to me where I am with the wipes, assumes the position, and I check everything out and make sure he's clean.

He came just now and woah! Needs a little help there. =D OTOH, as it was smeared everywhere I could see that he'd tried, and I was grateful for that. It's important to me that he put in the effort, even if he's not very good at it right now.

So these words came out of my mouth:

"Good job wiping, Andrew! That's great. You don't have to be perfect, but it is important to try."

And the truth of these words hit me and I stopped and thought. "Huh."

"Maybe I should quit beating myself up so much then hey?"

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY... Monday February 8th 2010

Outside my window... It's SNOWING. GAH! I wanted to run tonight! And tomorrow! *sniff* =( I may have to use the dang treadmill.

I am thinking... Life's a funny old thing ain't it?

I am thankful for... warm house, warm food, warm clothes, sweet family, the gospel and running.

I am wearing... tech wicking socks, pair of brown trousers, underwear, cream top.

I am remembering...Feeling the Spirit.

I am going... to give the Drewmeister a bath then work on my lesson.

I am currently reading...The old Testament and my lesson book.

I am hoping... to be able to run outside tomorrow. But that snow is coming down hard and fast. I don't think I'm going to be able to. =(

On my mind... I spend too much time faffing about and not enough time getting things done.

Noticing that...I spend WAY too much time on the computer.

Pondering these words... Ether 12:27
"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

From the kitchen...I need to clean it. Had Salmon for dinner. Yum.

Around the house...I need to clean it. And the washer just beeped at me so I'd better put it in the dryer/hang it up.

One of my favorite things...my family
